Survey Results: Global pandemic series | Labor market challenges and returning to the worksite

As the pandemic continues to change the landscape in which we operate, including the labor market and companies’ ability to attract and retain employees. This survey looked at what’s driving labor shortages and higher-than-usual attrition levels — and what employers are doing differently in this environment to secure the workers they need. Return to-worksite plans and vaccination policies are also covered. Information was gathered in July and August 2021.

At the time of this survey, almost two thirds of companies cited dissatisfaction with pay and/or ability to get a higher salary or wage at another company to be a primary driver of voluntary turnover among employees. To address this, more than one third of companies have begun increasing promotional opportunities and/or awards. Simultaneously, over 70% of companies reported introducing more flexible working arrangements. Click the links below to find out more.
